AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition

AVG features most of the common functions available in modern antivirus and Internet security programs, including periodic scans, scans of sent and received emails (including adding footers to the emails indicating this), the ability to "heal" some virus-infected files, and a "virus vault" in which infected files are held.

CCleaner

CCleaner allows the user to remove unused, unnecessary, temporary files from all internet browsers and numerous supported applications. The program also locates and corrects problems in the Windows Registry such as, unused file extensions and application paths. In addition, CCleaner assists with uninstalling applications and removing uninstallation entries for deleted programs that have not had there respective uninstallation entries removed. Its final feature would be to define which programs are to run at the startup of the computer, a lot like the Microsoft Windows MSConfig Utility.

TweakUI

Tweak UI is a free user interface customization application first released by Microsoft in 1996 to aid end users in customizing the Microsoft Windows operating system. By itself, it does not do anything that would not otherwise be possible. However, it provides a simple graphical user interface for performing tweaks that otherwise would require editing the registry, which is considered by many a daunting and risky task for novice users.

Putty

PuTTY is a terminal emulator application which can act as a client for the SSH, Telnet, rlogin, and raw TCP computing protocols. The name "PuTTY" has no definitive meaning[1], though 'tty' is the traditional name for a terminal in the Unix tradition, usually held to be short for teletype.

uTorrent

µTorrent (uTorrent) is a free BitTorrent client for Microsoft Windows written in C++[1] and localized for many different languages. It is designed to use minimal computer resources while offering functionality comparable to larger BitTorrent clients such as Azureus or BitComet.

Firefox

Mozilla Firefox (abbreviated officially as Fx, but also commonly as FF) is a free web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite, managed by the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox had 19.03% of the recorded usage share of web browsers as of June 2008, making it the second-most popular browser in current use worldwide, after Internet Explorer.[1]

Skype

Skype (IPA: [skʌɪp]) is software that allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet. Calls to other users of the service are free of charge, while calls to landlines and cell phones can be made for a fee. Additional features include instant messaging, file transfer and video conferencing.
